Biography

George Clymer was a patriot from the very beginning. One of the first to advocate for complete independence and a signer of the Declaration, he brought that same dedication to the Constitutional Convention. A quiet but determined delegate, he was a firm supporter of a strong national government and a staunch admirer of George Washington. His signature was that of a man who had risked everything for the American cause and now saw the job through to its proper conclusion.
