Biography
Elizabeth Cady Stanton was the intellectual and philosophical heart of the women's rights movement. A brilliant writer and thinker, she was the primary author of the 1848 'Declaration of Sentiments,' a revolutionary document that declared 'all men and women are created equal.' While Anthony was the organizer, Stanton was the firebrand, the one who articulated the radical vision of full equality for women that would eventually lead to the 19th Amendment.
