Biography
Young, ambitious, and brimming with ideas, Charles Pinckney of South Carolina made a significant impact on the Constitution. Early in the convention, he introduced his own detailed plan of government, and though not adopted wholesale, many of its 43 articles found their way into the final document. He was an influential voice in the debates, a visionary who, despite his youth, contributed mightily to the structure and substance of the nation's charter.
